Job Title: Family Based Senior Clinician - Full Time
Job Summary:
The Senior Clinician will provide intensive home based family therapy and support services to families whose children and/or adolescents meet the criteria for a psychiatric (mental health) diagnosis and are at risk for impatient psychiatric hospitalization or other out-of-home placements.
Therapeutic services shall be tailored to the family’s specific needs and may vary according to the needs and progress of the child and family. The goal is to provide clinically sound services to enable the child to be maintained in his or her home environment and to function appropriately in the least restrictive environment deemed medically necessary in accordance with the current Medical Assistance Program

Responsibilities and Authorities :
- Provide intensive family therapy, parent management, psycho education and support services to families experiencing varying needs and concerns.
- Conducts individual and family therapy sessions.
- Provides parent management training and teaches skill development to clients.
- Conducts a comprehensive initial assessment/intake evaluation of client/family.
- Develops a comprehensive treatment plan in collaboration with the client and family clearly documenting attainable goals and objectives for each family member.
- Assist parents in developing adequate resources/community supports.
- Assist families in increasing/developing supportive networks.
- Develop crisis safety plans in collaboration with the child/adolescent and family.
- When appropriate, link families with more formal services and supports (i.e., hospitalization, Medical assistance, day care, job skills.
- Encourage the family be teaching specific life skills to enhance relationships.
- Link families with resources in their family and community that they have not utilized or been exposed to.
- Maintains collateral contact and collaborative relationships with formal and informal commonly utilized by the child/family (i.e., school, hospital, public agencies, church).
- Identifies, develops and implements additional supportive services that may be reimbursed via FBMHS, including but not limited to respite care, homemaker services, transportation, etc.
- Assist clients in establishing relationships with other services providers by accompanying clients to service agencies and making sure clients follow through.
- Interacts regularly with MH/MR Base Service Unit, Juvenile Court, Children and Youth Services Staff, mental health professionals, school officials, and others to secure additional supportive services for program clientele.
- Documents promptly and accurately all types of involvement and contacts made with/for clients that meets Every Child Inc. clinical documentation requirements, including State/County guidelines, MA Billing procedure, licensing requirements and other applicable legal/regulatory guidelines.
- Senior Mental Health Worker will work a flexible schedule to accommodate families served. Must be available to families on an ongoing basis, particularly when crises occur, also to utilize problem solving and negotiating skills to empower families.
- Attend and staff various committees and Agency meetings.
- Completes office protocol and documentation requirements.
- Adhere to the policies established by Every Child and Every Child’s Board of Directors.
- Complete all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications (Education, Experience & Skills)
Master’s degree in counseling, Social Work, Psychology or related field, with ACT 33/34 clearances,
PA licensure and/or certification by the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapist preferred but not required.
Excellent clinical skills, is familiar with psychiatric diagnosis and is proficient in family systems approaches as well as two to three other therapeutic modalities (i.e., behavioral management, cognitive therapy, interpersonal, solution focused, parent management, psycho dynamic etc.)
Technical versatility by implementing any number of treatment interventions, which are likely to ameliorate child/family needs.
Must be proficient in problem solving and communication skills with clients and families. Also, must have the ability to use these skills to assess family resource deficits and enhance deficits by skill building and developing resources.
Knowledge of community supports, concrete services, and social services.
Exempt Position – Flexible workweek with Varying hours and days as needed
Ownership of a reliable vehicle, a valid PA driver's license and proof
of insuranceare required. Act 33/34 Clearances required.
