Give Big Pittsburgh is an online giving day hosted by the Pittsburgh Magazine created to support the nonprofits doing great work in our community. Leveraging the national awareness of #GivingTuesday, hundreds of nonprofits throughout Pittsburgh and its surrounding areas will work together to raise awareness, collect donations, and build a stronger sense of philanthropy throughout their local communities. The Pittsburgh Foundation has partnered with the Pittsburgh Foundation and the Community Foundation of Westmoreland County to promote the event and provide a huge set of prizes for organizations to strategize around and win some extra cash!
GivingTuesday, taking place December 3rd, is a global day of giving that harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities and organizations to encourage giving and to celebrate generosity worldwide. Every year, on GivingTuesday, millions of people across the globe mobilize to show up, give back, and change their communities. The goal is to create a massive wave of generosity that lasts well beyond that day, and touches every person on the planet
